GOLFING!!!...not my best sport.

Sheldon took me, Mariah, and Mason to the shooting range to golf a bucket of balls. We had a lot of fun...although, I realized, I'm really not that good or coordinated. Plus, I look kinda funny. But, I did make it to the 100 yard line. But Sheldon is very patient and very encouraging.

Dang, doesn't he look good!!! And so professional! He hit that sucker not only far, but over the fence. All the way to Edith's infact. He has quite the arm!

ha, and then there is me, who just looks like a total idiot. I didn't realize how funny I look golfing until I saw the pictures. But who cares, its just something fun to do. I would miss at least 3 times before I would actually hit the ball. I used the excuse as it being my wind up. Then mom came over, and she showed us all up. She hit that ball straight, perfect, and far.

But then on the plus side, I did have Sheldon there to REALLY help me out!!! :) And my form looked a lot better after he helped with the positions and everything. Except for the first time when I hit him in the face, haha! My bad....

Mariah is just so cute when she swings the club. She made it so much fun to golf with. Me and her had some good laughs.

And then there is Mason who is the athlete of the family, and is good at anything you give him to play with. He really enjoyed Sheldon taking us. He looks up to him, and really needs a brother. Camille was there with us this time, but next time she will have to go with us.

85 Years of Success and Memories

Grandpa Blaine is the Big 85 Years Old!!!! What a legacy he has lived and an example he has set on his posterity and others. I am so proud to have him as my grandfather. He has been such an important person in my life. I have spent many days and nights with him at his home. From the time I was little up to now. I loved spending the day with him and grandma while my parents worked. We would watch steel magnolias and field of dreams everyday. I would help them out in their yard and build forts in the corner. They always had the best food and treats, and grandma always made the best meals. She had ice cream, fruit, chocolate, cookies!!! I loved having sleepovers, and waking up to big breakfasts that Grandma would make. I love our trips over there where we would have popcorn, and laugh hysterically watching America's Funniest Home Videos. I would consider Grandpa Blaine a cat, a man with 9 lives. He has overcome many heart attacks, strokes, and other health issues, but has always been one of the positive people I have met, never complaining about anything, and always has a smile on his face. I love listening to Grandpa's stories; growing up, when he met my Grandma, asking her to marry him, his jobs, family,etc. I love grandpa's phrases and jokes (well the clean ones anyways, haha). He is always coming up with something funny to say, just to make my day. Thanks for all you do Grandpa and for always being there for me! We Love You!!! :)

General Conference Weekend-Adventurous!!

What a great weekend I got to spend with Sheldon. He had two tickets to the 1st session of General Conference and asked if I would like to go with him. Of course, I couldn't say no, and give up a weekend of conference and being with him. We left Friday night, and stopped in Ogden to pick up his grandma's motor home. It was quite the adventure driving the motor home through Salt Lake traffic. But I must say, he is an excellent driver. I stayed at my aunt Deanne's house and Sheldon stayed in the motor home in the parking lot of Aunt Deanne's school. She fed us dinner: pizza, salad, and fruit. It was so good to catch up with her and uncle Max. Whitney, Tanner, Easton, and Landon were also staying there to. It was good to see them, since I only get to once a year. Me and Whitney had a sleepover and stayed up way late talking. I miss those days.

We woke up early Saturday morning. Deanne and Max went overboard on our breakfast! The table was decorated so cute, with matching plates and utensils. In the strawberry red theme. We had heart shaped waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, juice, and milk. It was a very delicious and healthy breakfast. We said our goodbyes and me and Sheldon headed off for the Conference Center. We had a free parking pass, but spent to long trying to find it. We found a close by parking spot near an LDS church and walked fast to get in line. The lines were huge. We managed to make it in, and didn't have to be searched. We had seats in the terrace but ended up on the third floor. I didn't care where we sat, I was just so happy to be there and in the same room as the prophet, apostles, and other church leaders. This session was so good!!! I felt like I got way more out of it. Being there really helps. I just loved being a room full of the spirit and with people of the same beliefs. This sessions was so full of council and guidance. I truly believe our church leaders know what kind of world we are headed for and our there for us every step of the way to guide and teach us. They are such great examples to us. After conference we went to the car to find.....why yes, a parking ticket. We were parked for 2 hrs. and 10 mins. in a 2 hr. parking spot. It was quite hilarious. But all of the millions of cars on that street had tickets as well. We went back to move the motor home to find this lovely sign......Deanne called us and said the pastor asked us to move the motor home because his congregation was doing something that afternoon, and they needed the parking lot. But there were never any cars there the whole day. It was quite funny. So we moved it to the front of Deanne's house, got it parked, changed, and headed back to Temple Square. Temple Square is one of my favorite places to go and visit and the Salt Lake Temple is my favorite temple!!! As you can tell, I was very EXCITED to be there. :) We walked around the temple and looked at the fountains and statues. It was a lot of fun. Then Sheldon surprised me by taking me to BENIHANA'S!!!!!

It was a great SURPRISE!! The food was so good, and the cool part about this restaurant, is that they cook your food in front of you and put a show on for you. It was amazing to watch them and how talented they were. Our chef cracked an egg and made a chicken out of it. The chef at the table next to us would flip his egg up several times with his spatula, without cracking it, and then would crack it perfectly in his bowl. They gave you so much food. Sheldon and I had the Fillet Mignon!!! His came with shrimp and chicken also. We had salad, with their own kind of homemade dressing, soup, homemade rice, and sherbet. I was very impressed and was so glad he took me there. He is so good to me!! We had a BLAST in Salt Lake City; Conference, dinner, and the temple. Couldn't get much better than that!!!!

Happy Easter: 2010

What a great Easter Sunday we had this year, and to have it on Conference as well!!!! On Saturday night, when me and Sheldon got home form Utah, we dyed Easter Eggs with my family. We had so much fun. The kids had some really cute and creative eggs. Sunday morning, we listened to the first session of conference, since we don't have television. Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Blaine's for Easter Dinner. It was Delicious!! We had ham, turkey, funeral potatoes, egg salad, strawberries, cauliflower, homemade rolls, and pretzel/raspberry jello salad! We were stuffed. We enjoyed visiting with each other. Then we watched the second session of conference, and it was a great session. I love Easter and the true meaning of it, the Resurrection of our Savior. Without him, nothing is possible.

Sending off the Missionaries: A Bittersweet Moment

It has been so Crazy to see all of my friends leave for missions. Hugging them for the last time for two years, and seeing them for the last time, hearing them speak in church. It's a great feeling to see all of these missionaries leaving to go preach the gospel to the world and those who need to hear it. But at the sad time, it's sad. I have been with these guys since kindergarten. We have so many memories together; field trips, honors classes, games, graduation, college, dances, and so many more. I am so proud of my friends choices to serve missions and to serve the lord, as they are commanded!

A New Young Women!

WOW!!!! Time has flown by! It seems just like yesterday this little girl was born, and now 12 years later she has entered into Young Womens. If this new change makes me feel old, I can only imagine how my parents feel!

I have some great memories about Mariah on the day she was born. I was in the first grade, Mrs. Bair's Class! I went to lunch that day, March 27, 1998. While sitting up against the wall of my lunch table, visiting with my friends, a tragic event happened. I was drinking my chocolate milk, and spilt it ALL over my pants. I was wearing my favorite outfit, my purple stretch pants and matching top. ha, that's when tight, legging pants were the style. It totally looked like I peed my pants. Needless to say, I haven't drank chocolate milk at school ever since. I went outside after, to play with my friends at recess. I looked over by the chain link fence and saw my Dad and Camille holding hands. They came to get me out of school because my baby sister, Mariah, was born!!!! I was so EXCITED!!!!!! Screaming with joy! :) My dad said lets go see your sister, I already checked you out of school. This was an answer to my prayers, and my milk spilling incident. We got to the hospital, and I was furious! Mother had promised me that I could pick out the bow for Mariah's hair. But when I got there, the rotten nurse had already picked it out. Of course, I'm sure she didn't know she wasn't supposed to. I love having another sister, and sitting in the rocking chair in my mothers room holding her! She was so cute, and still is! :)

Mariah has been begging to have a birthday party for as long as I could remember. So this year I decided to throw her a birthday party. I told her she could invite a few of her friends and we would play some birthday games. Instead, she invited 11 girls!!! WOW! What did I get myself into. It ended up being a really fun party and the girls were great! She invited some neighbor girls, friends from the ward, and friends from school. We played the M&M game, skittle game, balloon popping game, chain game, candy bar game!! As you can tell, the girls definitely had their share of sugar for the week. We had some good laughs and Mariah got some neat gifts from her friends. She was so happy and very excited at her party!!! I'm glad I had the opportunity to share this moment with her.

Sunday evening we had a birthday party with the family! Sheldon and I had a fireside at 6:00 so we blew out candles before the rest of our family got there, and then did it all over again. It was fun to get together with the family! We are so blessed to have Mariah in our family and the spirit she brings. She truly has a heart of gold and would do anything for ya. She is very talented, in music, the arts, looking out for others, and turning to those who need a friend. We Love you Mariah!! Happy Birthday!
